Culmárex Group is committed to the Environment, counting on a management based on prevention and minimization of environmental impact, meeting the legal requirements for aquaculture production and using the necessary means for maintaining a perfect interaction with the environment. The whole process is evaluated through an Environmental Monitoring Plan periodically implemented by an external organisation and communicated to the Public Administration.

This commitment makes us leaders in research programs within the aquaculture sector, in collaboration with various public and private agencies at national and European level.
Culmárex Group has implemented an environmental management system according to ISO 14001. Through our environmental management system, control and monitoring of all identified environmental aspects is carried out allowing us to optimize natural resources in a sustainable manner.
We are the first Spanish company in the aquaculture sector to obtain for your Seabream and Seabass products, certification "Friend of the Sea". This certification is an independent, nongovernmental, non-profit organization whose purpose is to conserve the marine habitat. Obtaining this certificate is subject to compliance with a strict set of criteria based, among other premises, the sustainability of aquaculture and respect for the environment, criteria that are met by each and every one of the marine farms Group Culmárex.
The Culmárex Group was awarded on April 29, 2010, the "V Jacumar Award Implementation of Environmental Management Systems Enterprise Aquaculture”.- (formerly PIAGUA received the "Second Prize Implementation Jacumar Environmental Management Systems Enterprise Aquaculture "on October 14, 2005).
Culmarex S.A.U. received recognition for its commitment to sustainable development in the Region of Murcia, awarded by the Ministry of Presidency of the CARM, environmental commitment that goes beyond what is required by law within the Social Pact for the Environment.
The electricity supply of Culmárex is from 100% renewable source.
In order to keep this commitment to Sustainable Aquaculture, Culmárex Group promotes and collaborates on projects to optimize and innovate the different processes and to gain greater understanding of their surroundings. To this end, we collaborate with different research groups, foundations and associations at both national and European level.
Culmárex Group is currently working for the precise quantification of the use made by bottlenose dolphins of aquaculture facilities, in collaboration with the Southeastern Association of Naturalist (ANSE) in the project "Aquaculture and dolphins", invited to participate in the project at: http://www.asociacionanse.org/proyectos/acuicultura-y-delfines/2/.
